Lessons Learned – Facebook and Twitter Accounts

I’m removing the New Moon Fitness Facebook page. There are numerous reasons, but the final straw was the privacy fiasco and bad faith response with which Facebook has consistently operated. To maintain a business page, I must also have a personal page, and that requires upkeep time as well as dealing with connections and messages. And if you have never operated a business page on FB you may not realize just how little FB does to promote your work and how much they pressure you to buy ad space. Supporting High School Journalism

West Side Story is the student news source of Iowa City West High School. Besides being an informative publication filled with personal stories about students and staff, issues this year have contained articles about subjects of interest to teens, such social media, AP courses, recipes, fashion, school clubs, local activities, as well as controversies such as vaping and the use of seclusion rooms. Starting August 29th and continuing for 8 weeks, our Tuesday 5:30am and Saturday morning 10am groups will be METCONS (metabolic conditioning). That is, we’ll challenge your conditioning. These work outs will include three phases: Strength: one compound exercise...

Heart Rate Training – Friendly Competition in the Aerobic Zone

Some friendly competition has started during our small group training thanks to the Polar Team app. We’re all working to get our target heart rates in the aerobic zone, although you can see that some of us like the anaerobic zone even more (86%). Strength training, Crossfit WODs, and basic aerobic exercise have all been able to push our clients into their desired zones. It’s like I always say, strength training IS cardio training: you strengthen your heart, improve blood flow, burn fat, and improve your body’s ability to deliver oxygen to working muscles. Exercise that improves cardiovascular endurance are activities...
