We understand that information you share with a personal trainer may be sensitive. In addition to keeping all your documentation under lock-and-key, we at New Moon Fitness never share your activity, or even your personal association, with our services. You will not be mentioned by name to other clients or in any media.
However, we encourage you to share your activities and experience working with us and hope this will be a benefit to your progress through camaraderie and accountability. Also, we may engage you for a testimonial or even as a video subject, but only if we first receive permission from you in writing.
Personal training is one of the Allied Healthcare Professions and deserves the same privacy of information. Therefore, though personal training is not currently bound by HIPAA, our policy says it is:
Protected Health Information. The Privacy Rule protects all “individually identifiable health information” held or transmitted in any form or media, whether electronic, paper, or oral.
“Individually identifiable health information” is information that relates to:
the individual’s past, present or future physical or mental health or condition,
the provision of health care to the individual, or
the past, present, or future payment for the provision of health care to the individual.
